Privacy Policy

JOINT respects your privacy and is committed to protecting any personal information shared through this website.

Information submitted through contact forms, course bookings, newsletter sign-ups or direct communication will only be used for the purposes intended — such as responding to enquiries, managing bookings, processing commissions or sharing occasional updates related to JOINT.

Personal information is never sold, shared or passed to third parties for marketing purposes.

Where necessary, trusted third-party services may be used to support the running of the website, bookings or payments. These services are expected to handle information securely and in accordance with relevant data protection regulations.

You may request access to, correction of or removal of your personal information at any time by contacting JOINT directly.

Cookie Policy

This website may use cookies to help improve functionality, understand visitor behaviour and support a better browsing experience.

Cookies are small files stored on your device that allow websites to recognise returning visitors and gather anonymous information such as page visits, traffic sources and site performance.

Some cookies may be essential for the operation of the website, while others may support analytics or embedded content.

Terms & Conditions

All content, images and material on this website remain the property of JOINT unless otherwise stated and may not be reproduced or used without permission.

Descriptions, pricing and availability of courses, commissions or products may change over time and are subject to revision.

Commissioned work is undertaken through direct agreement between JOINT and the client. Estimated lead times, materials and specifications will be discussed during the design process and confirmed prior to production.

Course bookings are subject to availability and may occasionally require rescheduling due to unforeseen circumstances, illness or insufficient numbers.

While every effort is made to provide accurate information, JOINT accepts no responsibility for temporary interruptions to the website or for inaccuracies caused by third-party platforms or services.

Use of this website constitutes acceptance of these terms.

Refunds & Cancellations

Courses may be cancelled or transferred with reasonable notice prior to the course date. Refunds may not be available for late cancellations or non-attendance.

In the unlikely event that JOINT needs to cancel or reschedule a course, participants will be offered an alternative date or full refund.

Commission deposits are generally non-refundable once design, sourcing or production work has begun. This reflects time spent developing concepts, preparing materials and scheduling workshop time.

Any concerns relating to bookings, payments or cancellations should be discussed directly and will always be approached reasonably and fairly.

Accessibility

JOINT aims to make both the website and workshop environment as welcoming and accessible as possible.

We recognise that access requirements vary and encourage visitors, students or collaborators to get in touch ahead of a visit or booking if there is anything that may help improve accessibility or comfort.

As JOINT continues to develop, accessibility considerations will remain an ongoing part of how spaces, courses and communications are designed and improved.

Social Impact Policy

JOINT exists not only as a workshop and studio, but as a place of learning, exchange and connection.

Through courses, collaborations and commissioned work, JOINT aims to support access to practical craft skills, encourage more thoughtful relationships with materials and contribute positively to the wider community and environment.

We believe craft and making can play an important role in wellbeing, confidence, education and community resilience. JOINT seeks to create opportunities for people to slow down, work with their hands, learn new skills and reconnect with materials, process and place.

As the organisation develops, JOINT aims to:

  • support local makers, craftspeople and educators

  • provide accessible learning opportunities

  • encourage sustainable approaches to design and making

  • contribute to the cultural and creative life of the local area

  • foster collaboration across craft, environment and community sectors

As a Community Interest Company, any surplus generated by JOINT will be reinvested into the ongoing development of its social and environmental aims.

Sustainability Policy

Sustainability is a core part of JOINT’s approach to making, teaching and collaboration.

We believe materials should be used thoughtfully, processes should be considered carefully and objects should be made with longevity in mind. Wherever possible, JOINT prioritises responsibly sourced timber, local supply chains and low-waste approaches to production.

Alongside traditional and contemporary woodworking techniques, JOINT aims to encourage a broader understanding of woodland culture, material stewardship and the environmental impact of design and manufacturing.

This includes:

  • sourcing timber responsibly and locally where practical

  • valuing repair, maintenance and longevity over disposability

  • minimising waste through considered design and material use

  • reusing offcuts and surplus materials where possible

  • supporting small-scale and independent suppliers

  • encouraging slower, more intentional approaches to making

Sustainability at JOINT is understood not as a fixed outcome, but as an ongoing process of learning, improvement and responsibility.
