Nestled in the beautiful South Devon countryside overlooking the Dart Valley, between Dartmouth and Totnes, Joint is based at Longlands Workshops — a creative hub of woodwork, craft and art businesses set within a peaceful rural setting. Formerly the site of Carpenter Oak, the workshops are now home to a thriving community of makers, alongside a yoga studio housed within a beautiful timber-framed showroom.

Joint’s workshop offers a unique contemporary teaching space for up to eight students, designed to feel calm, practical and inspiring in equal measure. Alongside the main studio is a dedicated machine room, allowing students to safely explore both traditional hand skills and modern woodworking techniques.

Longlands itself is a destination worth visiting. Carefully tended planting weaves between the workshops, while a wilder garden area includes a cabin, pond and even a pair of axe-throwing alleys — creating a setting that feels creative, grounded and quietly adventurous all at once.
